Terms of Use
Last updated 14 October 2026
In short. Coins pay for stories. You get some free every month, and can buy more or take a monthly plan through the App Store. Coins never expire and aren't money. Apple handles payments and refunds; if a purchase is refunded, its coins are taken back.
The agreement
Noctilo is published by Camille Chambefort, 500 chemin des Rascas, 06700 Saint-Laurent-du-Var, France (“we”). The app is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, together with these terms. Where they differ, these terms apply to what they cover (coins, plans and stories).
Coins
- Coins pay for stories and their extras (illustrations, voices, sounds, music). The price of each choice is shown before you make the story.
- Coins are a right to use the app, recorded on our servers. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged, transferred or sold, and are never refunded by us in money.
- Coins never expire.
- On the free plan, your balance is topped up to 10 coins on the first of each month (a higher balance is kept as it is).
- If something we charged for fails to be made (a page's picture or voice, for example), its coins come back to your balance — at once, or after we've checked it.
Coin packs
Packs are one-off App Store purchases. Their coins are added as soon as Apple confirms the payment.
Monthly plans
- Little Family, Family and Grand Family are monthly App Store subscriptions. Each paid month adds the plan's coins to your balance.
- They renew automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current month, in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
- Moving up to a bigger plan takes effect at once: Apple refunds the unused part of the smaller one, and that month's coins are topped up to the bigger plan's.
- Moving down takes effect at the next renewal.
- If a renewal payment fails, Apple retries. For the first 16 days (the grace period) the plan stays on, but the month's coins are only added once the payment goes through; after that you're on the free plan, keeping your coins, until a payment succeeds.
- When a plan ends, you go back to the free plan and keep all your coins.
Refunds
- Refunds of App Store purchases are decided by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
- When Apple asks us about a refund request, we tell Apple how much of the purchase was used and what we'd recommend; Apple decides. By buying coins or a plan you agree that we share this with Apple. See the Privacy Policy.
- When a purchase is refunded, the coins it added are taken back. If some were already spent, your balance can go below zero; new stories wait until it is back above their price. Monthly coins and later purchases bring it back up.
The stories
- Stories, pictures, voices and music are made by AI services from your choices. They are written to be gentle and suitable for children, but AI can make mistakes: please read along, and tell us about anything that isn't right.
- You may use the stories made for your family for your own private, non-commercial purposes.
- Don't use the app to make content that is unlawful, hateful or harmful, or try to get around its safeguards.
Your account
Your stories and coins belong to your account. If you use the app without signing in and then delete it or change phone, what was on that anonymous account can't be recovered — sign in with Apple or Google to keep it.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the app available and correct, but it is provided as is and may change or be interrupted. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of your country, including the legal guarantee of conformity.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; we'll say so in the app before an important change applies. These terms are governed by French law. Questions: [email protected].
